Frisco Needlepoint Market Recap: We Survived (Mostly)

We're back from the Frisco Needlepoint Market. We're tired. One is down with the flu. And our haul is finally live on the site. Here's how it went down.

Getting there: four flights, three airports, one parking lot

Most people just fly to Texas. We took the scenic route through every airport in Southern California first.

Four flight changes. Santa Barbara to Burbank to LAX. By the time we landed, we were beyond fried, to say the least. Mostly just looking forward to a shower and fresh clothes.

Then we got to our Airbnb — and couldn't get in. Code was wrong. Locked out until 11pm.

We had a very important dinner reservation with Victoria Whitson. So we did what any professional would do: changed clothes in the parking lot and asked our Instacart driver if he'd give us a ride to the restaurant.

He said yes. Legend.

Soufflés and scoop with Victoria Whitson

Worth every flight change. We had the most delicious soufflé dinner with Victoria Whitson, who let us in on all the needlepoint scoop. Our lips are sealed.

The market

  • 20,000 steps a day and countless flights of stairs. Our sneakers have filed a formal complaint.
  • Lunch: never happened. Not once.
  • Six trips to Colors of Praise for more bags — because you kept messaging us on Instagram asking for more. We heard you.
  • 45 minutes in line for Ann Kaye Bermuda bags. Worth it. Full stop.
  • The sweetest surprise: Caroline and Alea made custom Lillie cowboy hat pins.

The last night: an 11pm suitcase emergency

We shopped til we dropped. Then we looked at the pile and realized it had to get home somehow.

At 11pm, we panic-Instacarted two suitcases. We still could barely fit everything. Sleep was more of a concept than an activity. 550 needlepoint canvases, 7 bags of Arden Gray threads, 150 needle minders, and lots of laughs along the way.

The flight home (aka our secret office)

We spent the plane rides editing stitch files for a huge new collab. It's top secret. Stay tuned.

The aftermath

This whole week we've been buried in boxes — tagging, taping, and photographing everything we brought home.

And now? It's live.

Our Frisco finds are now in our new arrivals (the Colors of Praise bags are in store only!). Come see what was worth four flights and a parking-lot outfit change.
