Needlepoint is one of the most relaxing things you can learn, and one of the easiest to start. Our classes run in small groups at The Lillie in Summerland, just south of Santa Barbara, with your kit included, so you can show up and begin. You'll leave with a project underway and the confidence to keep going.
Ways to learn
First Stitch
A two-hour, small-group lesson for complete beginners. You'll learn to thread your needle, start and end a thread, and work the continental stitch on your own canvas. A beginner kit is included and lessons are capped at six seats.
Needlepoint 101 Series
Three classes with our instructor Kelly that take you from the basics to tips, fixes and decorative stitches, finishing with a plan for your next canvas. A full kit is included: painted canvas, practice canvas, threads, needle, threader, scissors and a project bag.
Guest artist lessons
From time to time, the designers behind our canvases teach here. Lisa of La Fête Needlepoint teaches A Day with La Fête: Needlepoint 101 on Oct 17, 10am–12pm, with a La Fête canvas kitted for every seat.
Open Stitch
Already stitching? Open Stitch is our complimentary community stitching time. Bring your project, settle in and stitch alongside friends.
